Meet the Team - Mat

Mat has been with the team since March of 2021 and what a whirlwind it has been (for the good of course!) Mat brings a fresh, vibrant vibe to the team that keeps us thinking and growing. As an enneagram 7, he is always “down to clown” and leads with a really good can-do attitude. Watching him grow, learn, and become such an integral part of the team has been such a joy.

Mat’s strengths lie in his ability to listen and advocate for a client. He does an incredible job being present in meetings and earnestly moving through the process to bring our clients highest level of joy in the spaces we create. He is honestly our hype man. We really couldn’t do it without him and are so grateful he is a part of the team!

Aside from working with us, Mat has two of the cutest little boys that you have ever seen with his partner Ruby. Their sweet family is part of our larger StruckSured family and we love seeing their faces in the office!

So, let’s give the people what they want! Here are some stats about Mat:

What is your favorite food?

This hasn't changed since I could chew solid food - Pizza

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Manhattan - It's been my dream since I was a child, and every time I'm there I have a deep sense of being on top of the world.

What is your favorite style to design within?

I truly love designing in such a way where I can pull out the deepest sense of enjoyment from our clients. Nothing makes me happier than seeing awe on a clients face.

My personal style always blends between different things. Right now I would call the style of my home Scandi-Americana. This mashup consists of exposed storage pantry racks, contemporary furniture lines, and campy rustic textiles in a turn of the century farmhouse.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Rough housing with my sons is always at the top of my list of free time activities. My other interests include going to Trailblazers games, watching Formula 1 races, and blasting rap music while I make focaccia bread.

Favorite project to date and why?

The ‘Starting Over’ project has been really special to me because his home fits my aesthetic so amazingly well. I also feel like the project has had many design horizon expanding moments for me, great relationship building with the construction team, and getting to see the project become a home where the clients past, present, and future feel aligned and represented has been a truly special gift.

Cheers!
